Rules
Short on purpose. If a rule needs a lawyer, it does not belong on this board.
- 1
Rank is the bid
Whoever has paid the most for a listing holds the higher spot. Ties go to the older listing. Everything is in US dollars. The board is a ladder of whole dollars: the tenth seat is $1 and each step up costs a dollar more. Support never counts toward the spot.
- 2
The Arena
The #1 and #2 always fight as logo puppets. That fight is the advertising. The ring never closes, and a bigger bid takes the throne. Supporting a fighter pays that company directly and does not decide the fight.
- 3
A stronger bid wins now
If someone enters with more money than both fighters, they take the crown. #1 and #2 keep fighting. Walk in as a new #1 or #2 and you are in the ring until someone pays more.
- 4
Stand-ins
Until real customers arrive, ten made-up products hold the board so it is not empty. Their bids are frozen and they never raise against each other, so a real listing can walk in from the bottom. They are demos: nobody can bid on them and nobody can support them.
- 5
Same URL climbs
Already on the board? Enter the same URL or @handle and pay only the difference to your new bid.
- 6
Daily Flash
A second board that conceptually resets at 00:00 UTC. Cheap, fast, and built for people who will not drop four figures before lunch.
- 7
Heat
Heat is clicks per hour. It does not change rank. It is how the trending rail and the on-fire mark are computed.
- 8
Support is paid directly to the company
While a company is on the ring, it may be supported. Payment is made on the payment page indicated by that company. Overtake does not receive it, does not administer it and does not know its amount. The amount selected on Overtake, from one to five, is a declaration by the visitor: it determines the outcome of the Arena and nothing else. It does not affect any position on the board.
- 9
Clean links
Tracking parameters are stripped. Chat links (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord invites) are blocked.
- 10
Overtake sells advertising space
Overtake sells advertising space on the board. The consideration paid for a listing belongs entirely to Overtake. Bids are processed through Stripe, and no listing is placed on the board before the payment has been received.
- 11
Rewards are promised by the company
What a company offers to those who support it is an undertaking by that company towards the supporter. Overtake hosts the advertisement, is not a party to that agreement, does not guarantee it and is not liable for non-delivery. Reports allow the offer, and the listing, to be removed.
